Who We Are
CHWA strengthens healthcare by equipping and amplifying the voices of community health workers, advocating for frontline health workers to improve community well-being.
The Community Health Workers Alliance (CHWA) is a non-governmental organization committed to empowering and supporting Community Health Workers (CHWs) across Africa.
Founded with the vision of building the continent's largest and most effective healthcare workforce, CHWA advocates for CHWs, enhances their capacity, and ensures they operate in safe, humane, and well-equipped environments.
Through training, research, policy engagement, and strategic partnerships, we work to strengthen primary healthcare systems, amplify CHW voices, and promote preventive healthcare for healthier communities.

Capacity Building
Traning programs and workshops for CHWs

How CHWA influences government policy to improve CHW welfare. (Formailsing work of CHVs- creating an ID system and database of their activities, improving conditions of service of Community Health Nurses and Midwives, fostering digital inclusion betweem CHVs and CHNs and CHMs.
Technology & AI Integration
Leveraging digital tools and AI-powered solutions for better healthcare delivery. (Developing software that seamlessly coordinates all activities of CHWs to deliver accurate and reliable patient outcomes.
Community Engagement
Outreach programs, health education, and preventive care initiatives. (Support Community Health Workers to better educate themselves and the public with easy to use learning methods/materials)
Research & Data Collection
How CHWA gathers insights on CHWs' effectiveness and challenges. (Conduct regualar research work to better understand the healthcare system at the communuty level)
